Winter jackets men

We have a wide selection of winter jackets in our men's department; jackets for everyday life, ski jackets, parkas, shell jackets and many more! We have jackets of all kinds, both technical for sports and training and for everyday use. With the right kind of jacket, you will stay warm and dry whether you are on a walk to work or if you are on the final sprint in Mora or Lidingö.

Which jacket do I need?
If you only are going to buy one jacket, we think that the shell jacket is the most useful one. You can use it in any weather and for all activities. But you will most likely want a more specialized jacket depending on the occasion. A jacket have several purposes; to protect against rain and wind, keep you warm when it is cold, give freedom of movement, transport excess heat, look good, suit with other garments. That is why there is special jackets with special features. When you are running, the most important thing is that you do not get too cold or too warm at the same time as you would want to move freely. Then you will need a windproof running jacket that ventilates and breathes at the same time as it is light, thin and flexible. When you are skiing you will need a windproof, medium warm jacket that protects against branches in the woods, steel edges and that has practical pockets for lift pass, goggles and other necessities. So in conclusion - if you have the possibility, we recommend you to adapt the type of jacket to the occasion.

How do I impregnate my jacket?
Most of the materials on jackets can be impregnated with a spray. It is simple and is done in a minute; just spray on the outside of the jacket, preferably a little bit extra on the shoulders and the front which is most exposed to rain. If your jacket is DWR-treated, which is a water repellant treatment from the factory, you can easily restore its feature by heating up the fabric in a drying cabinet or with a hair dryer. Then the jacket is going to restore its water repellant feature.

What is parkas jackets?
A parkas jacket is a warm lined and long jacket with a hood. A parkas is often very warm and can be isolated with down or syntetic filling. The outer fabric is often durable and waterproof or water repellent. Around the hood there is often a fur that is both stylish and create a warm zone around the face. A parkas also have large pockets to warm your hands and store your necessities.

Is a high-water column a guarantee for good rainwear?
The simple answer is no. Water column is a measurement of how well a material withstands water pressure, how tight the material is. If a rain jacket is made with the best of fabrics but has construction that makes water leak in, the material of the fabric does not help to make the rainwear waterproof. In the same way, a perfectly designed rain jacket cannot keep the rain out if the fabric itself leaks. An example of a good construction is if the zipper itself is waterproof or protected by fabric. Otherwise, the water will find its way through the zipper. Other common risk areas are the pockets. Make sure that the pocket lids divert water and if you want a completely tight rain jacket, the material of the pocket must also be waterproof if water still enters the pockets.

What is taped seams?
When sewing through fabrics, the needle makes a hole in the material. Water will be able to pass trough there, even if the fabrics itself is waterproof. The problem is solved after the seam is made, tape a waterproof tape on the inside of the seam. Even if the seam secures against leakage, you should avoid seams in particularly exposed places, such as shoulders and buttocks. A taped seam is never as tight as a whole fabric. While less lavish rain jackets and rain pants can have only the most important seams taped.
