Skis

Here you will find Sportshopen's selection of alpine skis from well-known brands such as Völkl, K2, Nordica and Blizzard.

HOW LONG SHOULD MY ALPINE SKIS BE?
A guideline is that an alpine ski should go from the ground to your nose. But that is not the whole truth - every skier needs their special length on the skies based on their needs. It depends on your ability, where and how you ride and how much you weigh. Think about how long skis the elite athletes have in different races- when they go special slalom, they have short skis while the exact same skier who go downhill have long skis. So they adapt their skis to how they need to swing. But back to us regular skiers.

WHEN SHOULD I HAVE LONGER SKIS THAN TO MY NOSE?
- You go fast and powerful. You love to feel the G-power in the legs
- You often go off-pist
- You are heavier than the average person in your length
- You prefer twin-tip
- The skis you prefer have a lot of rocker
As you might see, it is very individual how long skis you will need. But if you do not know the answer to the questions above - choose skis that goes up to your nose in length. If you are light/heavy - pull off or add some centimeters and you will get a perfect pair of skis that suit you.

Do you have high demands on your skis? Then you have probably ridden a lot and gained experience of what length you like. Just have in mind that in the swedish mountains and slopes, there is very unusual with bottomless powder. You should rather buy a good piste ski for good ski days. If and when it goes up to 40 centimeters - rent a pair of wide off-pist skis!

If you are going skiing in the Alps, it can be worth it to buy a good pair of off-pist skis or all-mountain skis. And rather rent pist skis if it turns out to be icy when you get there. Which we hope does NOT happen!
