A simple crab catcher that makes it easy to fish for crabs together with children along the west coast. It is used from a jetty or shore and baited with, for example, shrimp or a small piece of fish. The crab catcher comes complete with line, making it ready to use straight away. The catch can be raised slowly and carefully, which is perfect when children want to watch what’s happening in the water. To keep the crabs healthy, they need to be kept moist and protected from the sun, and it’s best to return them to the water when playtime is over.
