WE ARE READY - ARE YOU?
There is a lot to consider before hitting the ski slopes. Warm and durable clothes, safety against injuries, and something to ride on, of course. We want to make the ski trip and packing a bit easier for you, that's why we have gathered everything you need in a simple checklist that you can follow.
Freshly groomed ski slopes, crisp winter weather, changing temperatures, and lots of wonderful skiing.
The essentials - ski clothes! Jacket, pants - or maybe a jumpsuit? During cold days that may include changing weather conditions, waterproof clothing choices are preferred. We also recommend shell jackets and shell pants, which are thinner garments that keep completely tight against wind and moisture.
When dressing for a day on the ski slopes, it's important to choose a good base. A base layer is almost a must for the best conditions. Build up with functional or wool clothes in layers under your ski clothes. It makes it easier for you to dress and undress if the weather changes, and it helps your body to breathe, absorb moisture, and retain heat.
There is nothing more boring than skiing with cold hands, right? Remember to pack your gloves! Also, a balaclava or buff is nice to have when the cold seeps in around the neck and over the ears. If you are extra cold, we recommend mittens that allow air to circulate between your fingers and thus make your hands warmer. There are also small heat packs that can be placed inside the mitten, which in turn provides warmth for several hours.
The first ride down the slope - delightful! Then you need something to ride on. If you are unsure about the length of your alpine skis, let us guide you in your purchase of alpine skis! Or if you prefer cross-country skiing, we are happy to assist you in choosing your cross-country skis. Don't forget other equipment such as boots, poles, and back protectors.
The most important thing before your skiing is the helmet. Something to keep in mind when choosing a helmet is fit. The helmet should sit so far forward as on half of the forehead, to protect your entire head.
As much as we want to control the weather, unfortunately, we can't. Ski goggles help you bring out the contours in the snow and create better visibility on the slope when the weather is a bit grayer - and when the sun comes out. Choose darker lenses on sunnier days and lighter lenses when it's snowing or when the weather is worse.
You are going on vacation! And is there anything better than hitting the slopes and capturing the first ride of the season, enjoying hot chocolate in the mountain hut, and seeing the children's joy as they catch the turns.
Have a nice trip!
Trevlig resa!⛷❄
