- The work that we, together with the athletes, have put in has proven to be invaluable. When both parties are so satisfied, there was no doubt that we wanted to extend our agreement, and we have now done so. Seeing our clothes help the team perform at their best every time is fantastic, says Reinert Sörensson, founder and owner of Swedemount.
The Secretary-General of the Biathlon Federation, Rikard Grip, looks at the extended collaboration with great anticipation. He sees a great opportunity to continue developing both Swedish Biathlon and high-quality training and competition garments for the athletes in close collaboration with Swedemount's design team.
- The clothes that we have developed together over the years are extremely functional and the athletes are satisfied with the fit and function. For us, success lies in the small details and that's where we will continue the development work together with Swedemount to make good even better, says Rikard Grip.
With a good strategy and a well-executed collaboration, they have together created new and fine collections with features that meet the biathletes' demands. Sportshopen looks positively towards the future and being able to continue producing high-quality garments for both the national biathlon team and everyday athletes.
In biathlon, every detail is important. To win, everything must be perfect; skis properly waxed, rifle correctly adjusted, yourself in top shape, and last but not least, dressed appropriately. Sportshopen and the Swedish Biathlon Federation started their collaboration in 2018 and have since achieved good results. They have now extended their agreement and continue their successful collaboration where Swedemount equips biathletes with training and competition clothing, designed according to their specific needs.
Many of the biathletes' requirements are the same as other skiers. What sets them apart is that the biathletes' clothing must also function well during the shooting moment. In addition to providing low air resistance during skiing, they must also protect against moisture on the shooting mat and provide friction so that the body does not slide during the prone shooting. The suits are rubberized on elbows and knees, which also receive extra padding, which, however, must not be too thick. The competition suits must also be durable and work in both cold and heat – from minus 20 to plus 20. Therefore, the function of the base layers is also very important.
- Since the start of the collaboration, we have developed new materials and design solutions that the biathletes have liked. These solutions we will also be able to offer our customers, and it feels really exciting, says Reinert Sörensson.
Swedemount looks forward to continuing to provide the athletes with training and competition clothing in the coming years. Also, to be able to release parts of the collections at the same pace, without sponsor logos and in other colors, to the regular recreational skier.
- For the development of Swedish Biathlon, long-term partnerships are important, and we are very happy to have now secured such a strategically important function as the clothing partnership represents, says Rikard Grip.
